Multi-generation FDD Massive MIMO trial boosts coverage, capacity, and user experience for XLSMART’s 5G evolution

The trial conducted in Banjar Regency, Indonesia has demonstrated that this innovative solution not only ensures stable conventional voice services but also significantly enhances network performance for data services. The trial indicated that average user data speeds more than doubled, while total sector traffic increased by 20%, leading to a significant enhancement in the user experience and opening new opportunities for operator revenue growth.

With mobile data traffic continuing to surge, especially in high-density areas, operators worldwide are striving to optimize the use of FDD spectrum to increase network capacity and improve customer experience. The FDD Massive MIMO AAU from ZTE, developed from a true customer-centric perspective and designed to remain compatible with multi-generation network infrastructure. The solution is also equipped with advanced beamforming capabilities that can create up to four digital cells, significantly boosting data service capacity.

The trial results demonstrated excellent performance across multiple parameters. The solution operates seamlessly on existing multi-generation networks while significantly increasing data service capacity, achieving up to 20% traffic growth and more efficient spectrum utilization. Overall, these improvements deliver a more optimized user experience, demonstrated by data speeds that more than doubled.
