Crocs get the Xbox treatment with sole-crushing price of $80
Time to test just how far fandom and taste will stretch
If Xbox console prices are going to leave Santa short this year, fear not as an alternative is at hand - Xbox Crocs are here for $80.
Standard black Crocs cost under $50, but for $30 more you get added thumbsticks and buttons.
Spend another $20 and you can decorate the backstrap with Jibbitz charms, including the Doom and Sea of Thieves logos.
The release comes hot on the heels of the Windows XP-themed Crocs and coincides with the 20th anniversary of the US debut of the Xbox 360.
The Xbox account on X (formerly Twitter) posted: "Finally, a controller for your feet." The Reg feels it necessary to point out that, despite the Xbox branding, the Crocs won't connect to a console and are unlikely to improve a user's prowess in any game in the console's library.

RAM shortages - in part caused by the AI datacenter revolution that Microsoft is fueling - means the price of the Xbox might be going up again. The Xbox Crocs don't require electricity or a television, although it might not be what your little darling wrote on their wishlist for Santa.
With the Xbox and XP Crocs under its belt, we wonder what other Crocs collaboration Microsoft might have in mind. Copilot Crocs, which come with two left feet but confidently insist one is right? Crocs 365 that require the owner to pay $25 a month to wear, or else a pair of burly security guards turn up to extract them from their feet?
How about Solitaire Crocs, which are large enough to hide in, so nobody can find you when you should be working? Or Windows 11 Crocs that might explode unexpectedly once a month.
