EA confirms Crysis 3 release

Electronic Arts officially confirmed Crysis 3 today and revealed the "sandbox shooter" will explode onto shop shelves in spring 2013.

Crytek's third installment is set in a futuristic plant-ridden New York City, trapped under a "Nanodome" by the corrupt Cell Corp.

Here, our protagonist, Prophet, must navigate seven treacherous environments using a new composite bow, alien weaponry and, of course, an enhanced Nanosuit. The usual revenge-based corporate conspiracy theme returns to form the backbone of the plot.

Despite the fact Crysis 3's release is still a year or so away, advance orders are already being taken.

Can you really be that keen on it?

The Crysis 3 Hunter Edition - which comes with in-game bonuses and an XP headstart in multiplayer mode - is available on EA's Origin service for £40. ®
